Frequently Asked Questions — Menorca Premium Charter

Private boat charter with skipper in Menorca, departing from the port of Mahón.

Booking & the experience

Yes. Menorca Premium Charter is a private boat charter with a professional skipper, departing from the port of Mahón. The whole boat is yours for your group — never shared with other guests — and your skipper handles navigation, anchoring and the route, so you simply relax and enjoy the day. We offer half-day, full-day and sunset charters.

No licence is required. Because every charter includes a professional skipper, you do not need any boat licence, sailing experience or paperwork. You just step aboard and enjoy — your skipper takes care of everything, including choosing the safest route and the best calas according to the day’s conditions.

A private boat charter with Menorca Premium Charter is priced per trip, not per person, for up to 9 guests. In low season (5–30 June and 1–30 September) a full day (8 hours) is €950, a half day (5 hours) is €700, and the sunset tour is €340. In high season (1 July–31 August) a full day is €1,250, a half day is €950, and the sunset tour is €390. Fuel is charged separately on actual consumption for day charters, but is included in the sunset tour.

Your charter includes a premium boat with an itinerary adapted to the wind direction, a professional skipper, the refuelling service, water toys (stand-up paddle and snorkel kits), refreshments (water, soft drinks and local pomada), plus cleaning, taxes and passenger insurance. The only extra on day charters are the fuel actually consumed, paid at the end of the trip, and the catering/lunch.

No, on day charters the fuel you consume is paid separately at the end of your trip — we charge for fuel actually used rather than a flat rate. The fuel level is checked on departure and arrival via the boat’s electronic gauge, and the cost equals litres consumed multiplied by the price per litre. As a guide, a full day uses around 130 litres, a half day around 80 litres, and a litre of petrol at the port of Mahón costs about €1.95. We handle the refuelling ourselves so you never lose time at the pump. Fuel is included in the sunset tour.

Booking takes just a few clicks: select your trip, check availability and pick a date, then confirm and pay online. There is no deposit and no paperwork. For a tailor-made itinerary, an earlier start or an extended day, you can send your request through the contact form and we will reply with a custom route and price.

Bring your good mood, sun cream, sunglasses, a hat and a towel, plus a change of clothes if needed. Bring a meal for lunch on day charters, unless you add our catering service (extra charge). If you are prone to seasickness, take anti-nausea medication beforehand and have a good breakfast before setting sail.

Trips, routes & timing

We offer three types of trip. The Full Day (8 hours) explores the island’s finest calas and beaches, including remote anchorages such as Binigaus, Cala Escorxada, Savinar de Mongofre and Macar de Sa Llosa. The Half Day (5 hours) reaches beautiful anchorages near Mahón such as Cala Sa Olla, Cala Binidali, Illa Colom and Cala Presili, with plenty of time for snorkelling and paddle. The Sunset Tour (about 1h30) is a romantic or festive cruise around Mahón harbour at sunset.

The two best routes from Mahón are the Ruta Sur (south coast) and the Ruta Norte (which is actually East coast). The Ruta Sur links Punta Prima, Cala Sa Olla, Cala Binidali, Cales Coves, Platja de Binigaus and the hidden Cala Escorxada. The Ruta Norte runs along Sa Mesquida, Illa Colom, Cala Tortuga/Presili, Mongofre, and Sa Llosa. The best choice on any given day depends mainly on the wind direction, and you can experience both by booking two trips.

All our trips depart from the Cala Figuera pontoon in the port of Mahón, at Moll de Llevant 337, next to the gas station. Free parking is available just a few metres away. Embarkation and disembarkation both take place at this same point.

The full-day charter lasts 8 hours, departing from Mahón at 10am and returning to port around 6pm. If you would like to start earlier, return later or extend the day, you can request a tailor-made itinerary and price through the contact form.

The half-day charter lasts 5 hours, with a flexible departure from Mahón between 10am and 12pm depending on your preference. You can also request an earlier start, a later return or an extended day through the contact form for a tailor-made itinerary and price.

Yes. Our Sunset Tour is an evening cruise around the historic port of Mahón, running from 7pm until sunset (about 1h30). Fuel is included, and you can add our optional Romantic pack with bubbles for a special occasion. It is an ideal choice for couples or a relaxed end to the day.

Our charter season runs from 5 June to 30 September, the period with the warmest sea and most reliable weather in Menorca. July and August are the sunniest and busiest months (high season), while June and September (low season) offer quieter calas, lower prices and very pleasant conditions. High season dates book up quickly, so early reservation is recommended.

The boat & practical details

The boat is a yacht-certified Sea Ray SDX 290 Outboard named “Guilty Pleasure” — a 9.50 m premium open boat with twin 225 hp engines, a top speed of 40 knots and a toilet compartment. It is certified for more than 12 passengers to US nautical industry standards, but for comfort and quality of service we limit each trip to 9 guests plus 1 skipper. On board you will find an audio system, fridge, freshwater shower, swim ladder, toilet and water toys.

We offer flexible cancellation: a full refund is available up to 48 hours before departure, and a 50% refund for cancellations made less than 48 hours before departure. If a trip cannot go ahead because of unsafe weather conditions, we will arrange an alternative date or a refund.
